Mother's Day at California's Wine Country

Spent the day with family at my favorite winery --- V. Sattui Winery in Napa Valley. This place is always a destination when taking both family and friends visiting California for the first time. The winery never fails to impress --- from their exquisite wines to the delicious offerings at their deli. Having been wine club members too, we're able to enjoy the private tastings at their underground Cellars. My personal favorites, Gamay Rouge and Morisoli Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon.

Found a Story

A quaint winery rests on top of a hillside surrounded by the Sierras. Here's a link to their site http://www.zin.com/. After browsing through their site, we decided to spend one Saturday afternoon there --- Story Winery has been voted Best White Wines AND Best Picnic Spot 2011 – The Best of the Mother Lode Competition.  You can bring your own picnic basket and buy wine from their tasting room. They pour wines for tasting and provide you with a wine glass to enjoy while having your picnic. I personally loved their 2008 Hilltop Zin and Sparkling Almond Champagne.
