Of girly-girls and tea parties...

My daughter attended her very first tea party. She's my girly-girl and the minute she received the invitation, let's just say, she couldn't wait for "the day". She had her dress picked, she wanted some white shoes, she asked if I could go with her. Of course, I wanted to be at the tea party too. Well, the day came, she was thrilled, the minute we arrived at her friend's house, her smile just couldn't be explained. I was so happy myself as the decorations, the set-up, was everything little girls would imagine tea parties to be. The girls started with crafts, a "make your own" hat. All pretty colors. It was amazing how these 6 year olds can pull this together, exactly how they want it to be! And, we were more amazed as each of their hats matched their attire. Coordination, was more like it.

Next was lunch, the host had the dainty table all set, with party plates and tea cups. Each girl had her own, no design was like another. The girls were excited to drink from these little china cups with oh yes, with their little pinkies raised! Hors d'oeuvres were served, fruits, and pink lemonade being their "tea". Then came dessert. A little of every sweet dream our little girls love. Brownies, little cupcakes, lemon cake, donut holes, yum yum! Then came play time, the girls had a blast playing bubbles in the backyard, hoola hoops, hop and skip, and an early easter egg hunt. Souvenirs were little spring colored MnM's, Skittles and chocolate eggs --- even I wanted to take some home. All in all, it was such a fun day. The girls got to bond and it was so stress free (girls rock!). My little girly-girl had her day, a memorable first tea party ever!
